Are you feeling overwhelmed?
You've been practicing law for a few years, or maybe you've just landed your first job. And you're so overwhelmed.
Law school doesn’t teach you how to practice law. We know that already. But one of the toughest blows of the reality stick is: practicing law doesn’t teach you how to manage your thoughts or your emotions well enough to keep you from feeling like ass even if you’re out there kicking it. Which is precisely why you still feel overwhelmed, frustrated, anxious and burned out. |
Lawyer Stress? It seems like nobody knows how to manage stress, but we all think we should. When toxic people and the pressure you feel are at a breaking point, it's easy to scroll through your phone and fantasize about moving to Costa Rica to, oh, become a yoga teacher or something. It isn’t all bad. You’re proud of what you have accomplished. But you wonder why the feeling of satisfaction is fleeting and the stress never lets up. |
I've SO been there.
When I started practicing, I felt like you. And despite how many CLEs I attended, I didn't get the tools to manage my mind. No matter how many books I read, nobody understood the mind of a lawyer. Even the other lawyers seemed resigned that we were going to be nervous wrecks. And being told to "hang in there" or "toughen up" told me what I should do, but didn't tell me HOW.

The Cure for Overwhelm?
I was determined to figure out how to manage stress and overwhelm and make peace with practicing law.
I’ve been a lawyer since 2005 (I can’t believe it has been that long). I have also studied just about everything out there that has anything to do with personal growth, spirituality, and the human side of lawyering and trial work. Over time, I came up with a blend of these disciplines that worked for my lawyer overwhelm. When I taught it to some colleagues, it worked for them too. As I write these words for you today, I am thinking back to where I used to be, frustrated and burned out. And, because I have an active practice and go to CLEs, I continued to see that there is a need to teach a different kind of information. I found a level of peace and satisfaction that I never could have dreamed was possible years ago. And now I want to share it with you. |
Coaching can help you.
This coaching is unique because I’m one of the few coaches I’m aware of who is simultaneously practicing law. I try out everything on myself before I teach it to others.
The skill of managing one’s thoughts and emotions takes practice, however, so it isn’t the kind of thing that you can just get in one hour or even one weekend.
I will teach you all the methods I use to have mastery over my experience in this profession, through your thoughts and emotions.
